head of the table

what would you do if you could?

Because my client’s mission is to create change in his community through a sense of Connectedness and Belonging, my goal was to create a safe and intimate Father’s Day experience that embodied those values.

Having witnessed men in intimate and vulnerable conversations over cigars, I created “Head of the Table” to offer fathers and community leaders a “seat at the table” to discuss important topics that directly impact the Black community, such as Health and Wellness and Economic Empowerment.

Attendees discussed important topics such as fatherhood, financial literacy, health, breaking generational cycles, etc.

With a deep understanding that food helps foster community, I hired The Toast Factory, a Black, male owned food catering company in Rochester, NY, to cater brunch.

Much like my client’s weekly “community restorative circles” for the youth in his organization, the men were invited to bring their most vulnerable selves to build brotherhood and community as they exposed their most intimate fears, thoughts and desires as Black men/fathers.

welcome to the circle

love notes

This experience was one for the books! I was not only able to hear about others experiences and thoughts around certain life subjects, but through speaking to one another I was able to create powerful bonds that I’m sure will last a lifetime. I’m thankful and honored I was able to pour and be poured into during the Head of the Table.
